Veterinary Dermatologist and Practice owner

Elizabeth Falk, DVM, DACVD

Recognizing Connecticut’s unmet need for board-certified veterinary dermatologists, Elizabeth Falk founded Unleashed Veterinary Dermatology in 2024. She is now one of Connecticut’s most sought after veterinary specialists.

She graduated from the Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed an internship followed by five years in equine medicine and small animal general practice. Her passion for dermatology led to a specialty internship in the field, followed by a residency in dermatology at Tufts University. Prior to her role at Unleashed, she founded the dermatology service at a university-affiliated specialty medicine practice in Stamford, CT, where she worked from 2017-2024.

She enjoys all facets of dermatology, with a particular interest in allergies and auto-immune diseases. Her research has focused on dermatologic side-effects of chemotherapy in dogs and on the common auto-immune diseases, pemphigus foliaceus and perianal fistulas.

Dermatologic diseases are some of the most common health issues that pets face, ranging from allergies and ear infections to auto-immune diseases. Many of these diseases need chronic management, which requires the pet owner, specialist and primary care veterinarian to work together as a team to ensure the best outcome. Dr. Falk relishes the diagnostic challenge of complex cases, but her favorite aspect of her job comes from working as part of this team, to make her patients as healthy as possible and to help nurture the human-animal bond.
