About us

Unleashed Veterinary Dermatology is an independent, veterinarian-owned specialty practice. Following the launch of our first clinic in Stratford, CT in 2024, we are now expanding with a second location in Darien, CT. The new doctor will be joining the practice owner, Dr. Falk, at this location.

Our Darien facility will feature a newly renovated, dermatology-focused space equipped with advanced veterinary dermatology technologies, including a Karl Storz video otoscope, a VetScalpel surgical laser, and in-house formulated immunotherapy. Our practice initiatives include an active clinical research study and plans to establish a residency program for 2027.

We aim to attract top-tier staff through healthy wages, exceptional benefits, and a working culture oriented around excellence of care and employee growth. We prioritize one-on-one mentorship, conference travel for staff, and employer-paid education. Examples of educational benefits that we offer are specialty certifications in veterinary dermatology for technicians, technician licensing for unlicensed technicians, and employer-paid conference travel for veterinarians and support staff alike. We want our employees to be always learning and growing, and we are serious about our responsibility to facilitate that. Every position comes with fully clinic-paid health, dental, and vision insurance. We also have a generous paid time off leave and a 5% 401k match.

What makes us different

We have a strong emphasis on communication, respect, employee growth, and a positive work environment. Our practice model is based on the following principles:

  • Excellence of care: We are known throughout the state for the quality of care that we provide.
  • A high staffing ratio: We maintain a high technician-to-doctor ratio and are intentional about staffing so our doctors are never slowed down by a lack of support. Our robust team (currently 10 support staff members for 2 doctors) includes dedicated veterinary liaisons who manage a significant portion of client communication, allowing our doctors to stay focused on medicine.
  • No investors: As a veterinarian-owned practice, we do not have outside investors, allowing us to prioritize competitive compensation and reinvest in our team. This approach has resulted in strong staff retention across all roles.
  • A high-volume pharmacy: By aligning our medication pricing with online pharmacy levels, we’ve created a system that keeps care convenient for clients while supporting the practice. This strategy also allows our doctors to benefit from consistent, ongoing production through medication management and refills.

Our doctors have the autonomy to practice medicine as they see fit. For early-career doctors, Dr. Falk provides a tailored mentorship program. For both new and experienced doctors, you’ll be supported by a culture centered on team wellbeing and excellence in medicine. Our priorities are simple: we want you to enjoy your work and practice at your highest level.
